Cheek piece stocked Winchesters are among the rarest of collector Winchester rifles. This gun includes a Winchester factory letter from the Cody Firearms Museum and is featured in the book Winchester Model 1895 / Last of the Classic Lever Actions by Rob Kassab and Brad Dunbar on pages 156 and 269, with caption: Here’s another rifle where the warehouse records fail to mention the cheek piece stock or sling eyes. S/N 31191 letters as a Rifle; .30 caliber; shotgun butt; shipped in 1901. We carefully examined the stocks and believe them to be original factory work. As good as the factory records are, the gun has the last word. Rob Kassab Collection.
